Us... Women's Auxiliary |
In 1994, a local group of women formed the Women’s Auxiliary
of the Green Bay Area Salvation Army, an officially recognized unit
of the Salvation Army family.United
in their goal of supporting the work of the Army, they have been
very active in their first ten years of existence.
The Women’s
Auxiliary is a great place for women of Green Bay to have an avenue
for fellowship, volunteerism and philanthropy.
A major project,
the Working Miracles Golf Outing, has been held for 15 summers,
and has brought in more than $250,000 used by the Auxiliary to purchase
materials and foster programs of the Army.
Women’s
Auxiliary gifts include: a van for transportation of youth and seniors;
ten computers and software for the computer; scholarships for Camp
Hope; and funds for operation of Sal’s Supper Club.
The group meets
only three times a year as a whole, deciding to let each member’s
individual interest and time availability allow her to be more active
on one of the various Auxiliary committees focused on Youth, Seniors,
the Family Thrift Store, the Golf Outing and other projects.
In addition,
the President of the Women’s Auxiliary is an invited attendee
at Advisory Board meetings to report regularly on activities.
Together, their
hours and their dollars have been a tremendous help to the work
of The Salvation Army.
Membership is
open to anyone. For information, contact
