What
We Do... Special Holiday Assistance...
Special Holiday Meals |
The
holiday tradition of special foods extends to those who come to
have a Hot Lunch at The Salvation Army, again as a sign of dignity
to those who come for this Monday-Friday sustenance.
Foods common
to the holiday, such as turkey and all the trimmings are served
the day before Thanksgiving and a special holiday meal is served
at Christmas time. These celebrations are also made special by decorations
in the dining room and frequently with entertainment.
Schreiber Foods
partners have adopted the Christmas meal for several years, with
many individual employees coming to serve, entertain and present
gifts to those who attend.
Once a month,
a common birthday celebration is held for all those who were born
within that month. Cake, candles and singing all help make the day
festive.
We welcome those
who would like to contribute a few dozen cookies during the holidays.
These gifts make the day a little brighter anytime. |
