Jan. 18, 2013 - Closed dairy gives milk to Salvation Army - The Salvation Army of Brown County has received a large milk donation from a dairy processor that closed earlier this month.
“It will help hundreds of families,” Nan Pahl, local director of social services, said of the more than 160 crates of milk that were delivered Friday morning to the nonprofit’s warehouse at 2954 Holmgren Way. The milk was donated by Waukesha-based Golden Guernsey Dairy, which had operated for 83 years before it suddenly closed Jan. 5.

To Raise Much-Needed Funds In Brown County
- The Salvation Army of Brown County announces the launch of its annual Christmas Campaign to raise funds to help people who continue to struggle across Brown County.

This year’s campaign theme, “Share Your Blessings. Be Blessed,” is a reminder of the joy that comes from helping those in need. Particularly in difficult times like these, when our neighbors still face unemployment, rising costs, and other effects of an uncertain economy, helping means both sharing blessings — and being blessed by doing good.

Nov. 2, 2012 - Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids donation - A collection of winter coats is pushing the Salvation Army closer to its goal. Forty-six new jackets were collected Friday morning from the Knights of Columbus. The Salvation Army says the donation will allow just about every family to receive one new jacket during the Coats for Kids distribution on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Nov. 1, 2012 - Final Day to sign-up for Coats for Kids in Brown County is Approaching - The final date for community members in need of coats to sign up for Coats for Kids distribution in Brown County is fast approaching and is this Saturday, November 3. To date, 1500 families have signed up for Christmas Assistance through The Salvation Army of Brown County, which includes the annual coat distribution.
Oct. 31, 2012 - Knights of Columbus to donate to Coats for Kids - As The Salvation Army of Brown County begins sorting and hanging coats in preparation for the annual Coats for Kids distribution to an estimated 4000 children on November 10- they are receiving help from the Knights of Columbus Council 10243 and Knights of Columbus De Pere. Representatives from Knight of Columbus will be on hand on November 2, at 10am to make a significant coat donation to The Salvation Army.
Oct. 31, 2012 - The Salvation Army Ramps Up Deployment Efforts in Sandy’s Wake - As Hurricane Sandy barreled up the East Coast, leaving mass destruction and power outages in its wake, The Salvation Army prepared for a long-term disaster response and recovery operation. Feeding has already begun at shelters in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and mobile canteen units will deploy to the areas of greatest need as damage is assessed in the coming days. Crews will provide food, hydration, clean-up kits as well as emotional and spiritual care.
Oct. 29, 2012 - Coats and cash donations pour in at Packers game - A record 440 coats and $12,688 in cash were collected Sunday for the Coats for Kids campaign at Lambeau Field.
The effort provides children with new and gently used coats for the winter months. The previous collection records were 386 coats and roughly $11,000.

Oct. 18, 2012 - The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is formally awarded LEED Silver certification - The Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center has been blest with receiving a long awaited goal of a silver rating in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. The Kroc Center received 53 points out of a possible 110 points for its energy efficient and environmentally responsible 101,927 sq. ft. facility.

- Today is the official open day for The Salvation Army of Brown County Bell Office. Volunteer bell ringers are needed between Friday, November 9, 2012 and Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 56 kettle sites throughout Green Bay and the surrounding area.
Oct. 8, 2012 - Salvation Army Needs More Bellringers - It's that time of the year when the Salvation Army is putting out the call for bell ringers for its red kettle campaign. The Brown County chapter needs thousands of volunteers to staff more than 50 red kettles across the area. The Salvation Army says a kettle with a bell ringer brings in a lot more money than a kettle standing alone.

Oct. 5, 2012 - Bell ringing season nears for Salvation Army - The Salvation Army of is looking for volunteer bell ringers this holiday season.The Salvation Army of Brown County says bell ringers will be needed between November 9th and December 27th this year. To sign up for bell ringing shifts please call (920) 884-3077.

At the Salvation Army Gym, residents signed up for food baskets, along with the Coats for Kids and Toys for Tots program. Staff says they expected to register 400 families during the first six hours of sign-up Monday, as a line of people stretched outside the door
Oct. 1, 2012 - Christmas assistance sign-up begins in Brown County - Families flocked to the Salvation Army Gym on Monday, eager to be the first to sign up for Christmas assistance.
The agency registered Brown County residents for food baskets, Toys for Tots and Coats for Kids program.
The line of people waiting to sign up stretched outside the door at times. Staff says it expects to register 400 families in the first six hours Monday.
Sept. 28, 2012 - The Salvation Army of Brown County Begins Christmas Assistance Interviews - As the temperature outside begins to slide, visions of toys, food baskets, and coats begin to appear at The Salvation Army of Brown County. On October 1, 2012, The Salvation Army of Brown County will begin interviewing families for Christmas assistance through December 10.

Sept. 27, 2012 - The Salvation Army of Brown County has two new faces - Major Don Kincaid and Major Jane Kincaid will serve as the pastors at the Corps Community Center Church on Union Court in Green Bay and also serve as administrators for the various activities at the center. They’re coming to the Green Bay area from Minot, N.D., and have worked with the Salvation Army since 1986.

Attendees will be served a special lunch and Captain Ken Shiels, Senior Kroc Officer/Brown County Coordinator will address the donors with highlights of all programs and facilities of the Army from the past year.

The Salvation Army provides Brown County youth new opportunities to learn and grow as individuals through after school programming in a safe, secure and monitored environment. Aug. 27, 2012 - The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Celebrates Kroc Kountry Garden Gala - On August 28, 2012, for one enchanted evening, the Kroc Center auditorium will be transformed into a magical country garden for the Kroc Kountry Garden Gala. The evening will be hosted by WIXX radio personality Otis Day. The evening begins with a 5:30pm social, with dinner and oral auction to follow. Entertainment will be provided by local music group, The Town Criers. All proceeds from the event will support the Kroc Center Scholarship Fund which assists low-income individuals with the cost of membership to the Kroc Center. The evening will also include testimonials and reflection from Kroc Center members on how the Kroc Center has made a difference in their lives.

Representatives of The Salvation Army of Brown County will be available for interviews.
Aug. 9, 2012 - “Tools for School” Receives Help from Starting Point Day Care Center - As The Salvation Army begins packing and sorting school supply bags in preparation for their annual distribution to an estimated 1,600 students on Monday, August 13 – they are receiving help from Starting Point Day Care. Children and staff from the Green Bay center will be at The Salvation Army, today, August 9 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am to lend a hand in preparing the bags.
Aug. 9, 2012 - The Salvation Army’s Tools for School Program Helps Children in Need - Heading to the department store is a back-to-school ritual for most families with school-aged children. Unfortunately, some families just don’t have the resources to buy needed notebooks, pencils, glue or other supplies. These families can get the needed school supplies through The Salvation Army’s Tools for School program, which will have its distribution day on Monday, August 13, 2012. Parents of underprivileged school-aged children can get the necessary supplies recommended for their grade level. The distribution will take place at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center gym at 626 Union Court, Green Bay, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while supplies last.
