Red Kettle Reason

On Wednesday, November 12th, The Salvation Army of Brown County officially kicked off its 2014 Christmas Campaign to raise funds to help people who continue to struggle across Brown County.

This year's campaign theme, "Red Kettle Reason," calls for the community to share their reason for donating to, or ringing at, the red kettle.

The goal for this year's campaign is $1.1 million. The money raised through the Christmas Campaign will help sustain the vital programs and services that help people in need in their daily struggle for survival.

This year's Christmas Campaign will include traditional fundraising methods, such as mail appeals, as well as the iconic Red Kettles - a holiday tradition that has served as a symbol of goodwill for more than 100 years. The campaign will also include new fundraising methods, including the 12 Days of Giving fundraiser and the Online Red Kettle.

There will be many special events throughout this year's Christmas Campaign, such as Packer Bell Ringing and a Bell Ringing Photo Contest. There will also be Kettle Match Days provided by Associated Bank, Broadway Automotive, The Salvation Army's Advisory Board, Schneider and Wisconsin Public Service.

This Christmas season is expected to be one of the busiest yet and donations of time are accepted as gratefully as donations of money. To volunteer to ring bells this Christmas season, please sign up online at www.ringbells.org or call (920) 884-3077. To volunteer at The Salvation Army’s Christmas events, please call their Volunteer Coordinator at (920) 593-2375.
